If we can nurture his talent to have him represent India at the Olympics, not only will we be assured of a Gold, we would have also ensured that India’s development is all round and sustainable.

Notes: This image was taken from the West Kameng District in Arunachal Pradesh. The boy could shoot a moving rat from a distance of 10 meters with a locally made bow and arrow. This image was the first prize winner for the National Photo Competition on “Sustainable Development: A Youth Perspective” organised by the South Asian Youth Environment Network (SAYEN).

  1. Govind sir, thanks for bringing to people’s notice such hidden talents of north east. I also belong from West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh. And if the claims made by you regarding the talents of this young boy is correct I would like to help him to get the initiation that he deserves. So, sir, I shall be grateful if you could share some details regarding the whereabouts of this boy. If you can give his name and village, shall do the rest. Looking forward to your response.

  2. Dolma, thank you for being so forthcoming. We had met the boy while on our way from Bomdila to Seppa…more closer to Seppa. Since its been over four years now, I am unable to remember the exact location especially since we did not stop for long at this place. However, will talk to a former colleague and let you know if he remembers.

    1. Thanks for the prompt response. If the place was nearer to Seppa, the boy could be from Aka inhabited areas, if not nyishis. Anyways, Sir, any additional information shall be highly appreciated.
